Chinese robotics maker refreshes its best-selling G1 platform with a more flexible neck, cooler and stronger motors, richer sensing, and longer battery life — while holding the line on price.
Unitree Robotics has officially launched the G1+, a comprehensive refresh of its popular G1 humanoid robot, bringing six major upgrades across motion performance, perception, and intelligent interaction. The new model keeps the G1 line’s signature affordability, with the standard configuration priced at 95,000 yuan (roughly $13,300 USD at current exchange rates) including tax — only slightly above the original G1’s starting price of 85,000 yuan.
Six Upgrades, One Familiar Price Tag
Unitree says the G1+ was built around three themes: motion performance, perception and interaction, and overall intelligent experience. The most visible change is a redesigned neck that adds two new degrees of freedom, allowing the head to tilt from roughly -25° to 36° and rotate up to 110° in either direction. That lets the robot look around a room or track a conversation without swiveling its entire torso — a small mechanical tweak that Unitree is positioning as a meaningful step toward more natural-looking movement.
Underneath the skin, the company overhauled its motors. Peak torque at the shoulder and waist joints is up 110 percent, while heat output under equivalent torque has dropped 72 percent — a change aimed at letting the robot work harder for longer without overheating. Arm and leg motors reportedly see similar torque gains paired with lower heat generation.
Perception gets a boost too. The G1+ combines a 2-megapixel stereo camera, a 1080p wide-angle monocular camera, 3D LiDAR, and a belly-mounted camera for close-up tasks, giving it a broader and more precise view of its surroundings for research, inspection, and teleoperation work. A five-point touch sensor on the head and a six-microphone array — capable of identifying sound direction, canceling noise, and suppressing echo — round out the sensing upgrades, alongside two 10-watt speakers for audio output.
On the power side, the G1+ now supports continuous external charging, extending how long it can run during demonstrations or lab sessions without needing a full battery swap. Connectivity has also been modernized with Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and over-the-air software updates.

Staying the Value Leader
The G1+ arrives as Unitree continues to compete aggressively on price in the fast-growing humanoid robotics market. The original G1 has been one of the cheapest full-featured humanoid platforms available, undercutting rivals like Unitree’s own H1 (priced well above $90,000) and other domestic competitors such as AgiBot and EngineAI, which typically start in the $24,000–$25,000 range. By holding the G1+’s price close to its predecessor’s while adding hardware improvements across the board, Unitree appears intent on keeping that value positioning intact even as the platform matures.
With humanoid robot shipments accelerating industry-wide, the G1+ signals that Unitree plans to iterate quickly on its most accessible model rather than reserving upgrades for premium tiers — a strategy that has helped it become one of the most visible names in China’s humanoid robotics push.
